Wind Energy
Make surveying your turbines a breeze with Drone Tech Solutions
One
Integrated solution to cover the whole process from data capture to data analysis
Efficiency
Drone inspections on wind turbines are traditionally done by rope access teams. This task can be done up to six times faster utilising drone technology. In today’s growing green energy sector the speed at which vital inspections and maintenance need to be done is of utmost importance. Drones allow you to reduce the downtime allowing for more upsevice time
Preventative maintenance
Due to the efficiency of using a drone we are able to survey more frequently. This in turn allows us to find minor issues before they become major issues therefore keeping costs down and production up.
Health and Safety
Working at such heights is extremely dangerous and puts technicians at risk. Drones drastically reduce this safety risk by localizing defects and pinpointing faults. This eliminates technicians unnecessary exposure to working at height and having to perform inspections from unsafe locations.
Here’s how we do it
Flight Plan
We generate a flight plan of your turbine using our software and send our drone up
Acquire Data
Our drone collects data in the form of overlapping images
Process Data
Our software team assemble the data and generate a report
Receive Report
A user friendly report is uploaded into your private account, accessible by you on our system
We help you collect data and turn it into actionable reports to maximise your assets, efficiency and productivity. By doing this, we give you back the luxury of time so you can be where you need to be without unnecessary delay
Once our drone has gone up and taken a thorough image diary, the results are sent through to our software team who compile and format the images.
As seen here an E-Report is sent to you with a detailed outlook at of any potential issues which are highlighted in colour by severity
The entire report is entirely interactive, meaning you can locate and refine your search for any detected issue. You can add any issues you spot yourself, and next steps can be actioned. All without getting a man off the ground.
Each defect is carefully confirmed by a proffessional wind technician, so you can be assured, you’re in safe hands.
The E-report is sophiticated in that it can correlate any descrepencies and put them together in the same issue. Saving you the headache of sieving through all the images and patching them together.
An overall report is given detailing the general health of your turbines. It highlights where the issues have been located, where and what those issues are
These reports mean you can save both your time and money by refering your O&M teams the information, and won’t have the hastle of waiting for the issues to be resolved.
We have developed a comprehensive surveying package that will enable you to perform Wind Turbine inspections with
Enhanced visibility
During manual inspections, small faults may be missed due to human error. The drone inspection data Drone Tech Solutions provides will allow even the smallest damage to be labeled detected and actioned upon.
Comprehensive coverage
The data we provide is more accurate, less time consuming and less labour intensive than current manual methods. Therefore, less room for error, substantial cost savings and reducing time that your employes work at height.
Improved operational excellence
We maximise productivity for Wind Farms by reducing inspection time (down time) to a maximum of 35 minutes per a turbine compared to other drone solutions. With wind farms becoming larger and larger, performing aerial thermal and high-resolution inspections has become the most efficient way to detect damage (Lightning strikes, Gelcoat damage, paint damage and broken vortex generators to name a few).
Scalability across Wind farm sites
Drone Tech Solutions allow small teams to inspect upto 8 utility scale Wind turbines in a single day. Instead of sending a team of technicians to painstakingly manually inspect each blade which is labour intensive, time consuming and unnecessarily unsafe, we can show up on site and perform a thermal and high resolution imaging inspection within a few hours. Utilising Drone Tech Solutions will enable asset managers to increase the number of sites they can manage.
